As dog owners we love our dogs but do we fully understand them. At Short Bark and Sides we provide training in the environment which the behaviour occurs, or one very similar. We fully understand how difficult and stressful it can be for you owning a dog with undesirable behaviours. Whether your dog is a new puppy, a new dog, an older or rescue dog who needs some training, we at Short Bark And Sides are here to help you to develop them as your companion and best friend. 1-2-1 Puppy Training Consultation
We are here to help, support and guide you by getting off to the right start with your puppy. Adequate preparation beforehand and proper knowledge can make your pups transition as smooth as possible. Your puppy will also go through adolescence where the proper training is essential. Adolescence can last until a dog is 2 or 3 years old depending on breed. This period can be fustrating for owners as a puppy starts to show signs of independence by exploring the environment. Training during this period allows owners to understand and continue enjoying your puppy/dog without stress. Teaching owners how to avoid bad habits and learn good habits so that your puppy knows exactly how to behave. Undesired behaviours are more complex than training issues. These can include fear, anxiety, aggression, reactivity, guarding, separation issues. These issues are usually caused by underlying emotional issues which needs to be changed in a dogs mind. We work by keeping your dog feeling safe, teaching you as the owner on how to do this also, whilst changing your dogs emotional reaction to what is causing them stress to a more positive one.Aggression & Reactivity
As an owner living with an aggressive or reactive dog can be extremely stressful. Confidence and trust in your dog and your ability to handle situations usually decline rapidly.
